Federations Cup 2019

It was with an honour to be requested by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to provide the security provision for the Fed Cup 2019 – Europe/Africa Zone Group I at the University of Bath this month. It is the first time that the international women’s team competition is being staged in the UK since 1993 and eight nations, including Great Britain, battled it out for promotion to the World Group II stages. On 28 and 29 July, the annual Ride London took place as over 27,000 riders took to the roads of London to complete many differing routes. On 14 and 15 July, Eminem delivered two sold out shows at Twickenham Stadium as part of his Revival Tour. The SES Group were on hand to provide crowd management and security throughout the night and also took on extra responsibilities during the event. Commonwealth Games Coming Home Ceremony

Commonwealth Games Athletes Homecoming

The Commonwealth Games Athletes Homecoming took place on Saturday 21 April in Victoria Square, Birmingham. An open air homecoming celebration welcomed the athletes who competed in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Live performances included singers, poets and dancers. The event also included ‘have a-go’ taster sessions of sports including basketball, boxing, gymnastics, judo and cycling. A family orientated crowd of 2500 enjoyed the days activities. 35 SES staff were on hand providing crowd and traffic management. The day went according to plan with the client happy with the staff provided and the success of the day as a whole.

On Sunday 15th April, all eyes were on Birmingham as they took their next steps to hosting the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The event gave viewers and spectators across the globe a taste of the City and what it has to offer for the event in four years time. Stephen Hawking Funeral

On the 31st March, the funeral of Stephen Hawking took place Great St Mary’s Church, Cambridge. Crowds lined the streets to pay their final respects to the much admired scientist and a spontaneous round of applause broke out as six porters from the physicist’s former college carried his coffin from the hearse into the church. As well as the thousands who lined the streets, there were 500 invited guests to the service, this included Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, who starred in The Theory of Everything, a film about his life.
