As award-winning providers of security and crowd management, the SES Group are proud to boast a team of fantastic, skilled professionals across a range of disciplines and specialities.
Through our training academy sessions, people can learn the skills required to be part of an elite security team, as well as other courses geared towards gaining qualifications for the world of work; in this article, we’re going to run through the courses available as part of the SES Group training academy.

We work closely with various professional partnerships, industry institutes and educational establishments to ensure an effective and consistent approach to learning and development.
We believe that to remain current and challenge the ‘off the shelf’ approach to learning, we must offer new and innovative learning solutions from the ground up.
Emerging Leaders Programme
We have created The Emerging Leaders Programme, a programme to develop teams of experienced, talented individuals that have been identified through the Career Development Pathway.
Through this course we train individuals and teams to work collaboratively and learn over a six-month period. After this, selected individuals will be invited to participate in the SES Group’s Management Development Pathway.
Career Development Pathway
We deliver a bespoke continuous professional development programme entitled ‘Career Development Pathway’ (CDP). This provides the necessary training and development required for new employees at the SES Group.
Management Development Pathway
In addition to our CDP, we have developed a Management Development Pathway (MDP). This program includes a range of provisions so managers can personally and professionally develop with the organisations identity.
What training courses do we provide?
Maths Level 1 & 2
Completion of this course allows candidates to show employers they possess mathematics skills. The course is aimed at people who do not hold a C or above in GCSE maths.
English Level 1 & 2
Exactly as the mathematics course, the English course is aimed at people who do not possess a C or above in GCSE English.
Customer Service Levels 1 & 2
Learning the basics of customer service, this course helps the participant to develop customer service skills that will serve them well in a range of employment opportunities.
Project Griffin
Project Griffin is a programme designed by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO). It is designed to help understand the threat of terrorism to the UK, as well as educating people on what to do if involved in a terrorist incident. The Project Griffin course has several modules, ranging from firearms and weapons attacks to social networking and postal threats.
Safeguarding
This short, auto-marked programme will give you the knowledge you need to understand the impact and key issues surrounding the safeguarding of adults and children.
SIA Courses
Our SIA Door Supervisor courses are for individuals who want to become private security members. The course includes conflict management and physical intervention training, as part of working as a door supervisor.
Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day & 3 Day Options)
These first aid courses vary in depth depending on their length. The one-day course teaches the basics of emergency first aid at work, while the three-day course covers advice for a range of issues, ranging from asthma to spinal injuries.
Fire Safety
Level 1 and Level 2 courses are available; the former provides basic training on fire safety, and the latter is designed for individuals who are involved with the management of workplace fire safety.
Risk Assessment
Delivers the basic instruction on how to be more aware of risks in the workplace, as well as teaching the process of carrying out a risk assessment.
Manual Handling
Manual handling carries a risk of injury if the correct procedures are not followed. This course teaches participants the correct practices for manual handling, as well as how to assess risks in manual handling environments.
Health & Safety
Participants will be provided with an understanding of occupational health and safety, including the relevant legislation and responsibilities.
Leadership
This course is important for those who want to become leaders in the workplace, featuring modules on leadership theory and transnational leadership.
Apprenticeships with the SES Group
The SES Group also offer a range of apprenticeships in customer service, business admin and operational and departmental management. Upon completion, candidates can receive a nationally-recognised qualification ranging from Intermediate Level 2 to Degree Levels 6 and 7.
